Many of the activities of UN Environment to strengthen the engagement of Major Groups are implemented through partnerships. Since 2016, UN Environment entered in particular into very fruitful cooperation with German Foundations based in Kenya, namely:
- Konrad Adenauer Foundation
- Hanns Seidel Foundation
- Friedrich Ebert Foundation
- Heinrich Boell Foundation
Through these partnerships, UN Environment was able to enhance the participation of Major Groups and Stakeholders in the work of the UN Environment Assembly. Furthermore, UN Environment engaged with the mentioned foundations to enhance the rule of law and environmental democracy.
