The United Nations Environment Program - Regional Office for West Asia and the Kuwait Environment Public Authority will be launching the first State of Environment Report for Kuwait.
The report was prepared by a group of national and regional experts using the integrated environmental assessment methodology (IEAM) used by the United Nations Environment Programme. It focuses on seven main issues: climate change, waste management, land resources, water resources, atmosphere, biodiversity,
and the coastal and marine environment.
This first report on the state of the environment in the State of Kuwait is an important foundation for setting a baseline for environmental policies and strategies and will contribute to supporting Kuwait Vision 2035 plans to achieve sustainable development, and to improving environmental management.
